Weekly Astrology Forecast - July 17 - July 22, 2023

Monday is a busy day with Mercury in Leo squaring Jupiter in Taurus, a new moon in Cancer and the nodes changing signs.

The square between the planet of thinking and communication in self-expressive and creative Leo is being challenged by expansive and optimistic Jupiter which could potentially overtake communication and thoughts creating over-confidence or jubilance which can lead to misspeaking or overstepping in communications. Watch out for potential errors of judgment or even arrogance. And be sure to under-promise so that you can over-deliver.

A few hours later the New Moon in Cancer provides the opportunity for setting intentions, especially in the area of self-care and nurturing. Cancer is about internal emotions and energy. It brings up issues of trusting what you are feeling and tapping into what your intuition is telling you. Ensure that you are in alignment with what it is you really want – what do you want to manifest next? And trust your internal guidance, and your intuition when doing this.

The new moon opposing Pluto retrograde at 29 Capricorn asks us to balance our obligations to ourselves with our obligations to others. Systems might need to be changed and adjusted to be sure that you are not over-giving to the point of not meeting your own personal needs.

And then last but not least that day, the event that only happens every 18 months…the lunar nodes change signs. The lunar nodes representing our karmic path are shifting into the Aries – Libra axis relationship. The need for independence and individuality will become a focus and how to balance yourself in groups and relationships. We are being asked to release relationships that no longer work for us, and any co-dependencies we might be attached to (SN in Libra). What relationships or groups are you a part of in which you are not able to be yourself or shine as the individual that you are? It will become more and more difficult to be something you are not. That skin/mask is going to become more and more uncomfortable to wear. Look to the area/houses in your chart where these are playing out.

On July 20th, fiery Mars joins in a headlock with patient Saturn. Mars in Virgo is ready for action in order to fix and improve things while Saturn is pumping the brakes in order to take a look at the bigger picture and transcend the physical realm. What is the higher, spiritual purpose in your action plans? Make sure you know y our why, and are committed to it.

On July 22nd, Venus stations to go retrograde and the Sun enters Leo. This is a time to re-evaluate what gives us pleasure. What does our heart really want? Also, your self-expression and identity in the world. Is it working for you? What is working in these areas? What is not? What are the things in life that maybe aren’t providing the pleasure they were?

We enter the Leo period where identity and self-expression come to the forefront. Where in your life are you feeling the need to shine and show your brilliance?
