Time to Stand in Your Own Light - Full Moon in Leo
Transcription
All right, hello, I'm here, it's Patricia, and I wanted to talk a little bit about the full moon in Leo that's occurring tomorrow. Almost said February, January 25th. So let me pull up my notes about this, and we'll get going.
(0:24 - 0:37)
All right, so, excuse me. All right, so, first things first, let's talk about full moons. We've got this full moon in Leo, the sign of Leo.
(0:37 - 1:11)
It's occurring tomorrow, January 25th, at 12.54 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in the U.S., and it is, that would make it 5.54 p.m. in the U.K. or Greenwich Mean Time. So you can do the, if you're not in either of those time zones, you can hopefully calculate where you are, what time that will be. Okay, so, let's just talk a little bit about full moons in general.
(1:12 - 1:30)
This is a time of high energy. It's the peak of the lunar cycle. The whole lunar cycle is approximately 28 days, and the energy at this peak point, this culmination point, it's really powerful.
(1:30 - 2:04)
It's really intense. They've done studies that show that, you know, we hear about these, like, you know, the emergency rings are more full during this time, and people have more mental breakdowns and that sort of thing. There's just emotions are at a very high level at that time during a full moon, which is about, the energy of a full moon lasts from approximately three days before to three days after the actual, you know, point of fullness.
(2:05 - 2:55)
So this is, like I said, it's powerful, it's intense energy, it's that culmination and that fulfillment that's this very, like, about to burst kind of energy, and then it's the time then to release. So full moons are a great time for doing any kind of a release, energetically, emotionally, physically, cleaning out your stuff, great times for that. So this is also a time of being able to see, like, duality, the opposite point of view of something, and it's a time of reaping whatever has been sown from the time before.
(2:55 - 3:40)
So this is an energy that actually kind of propels us to take action, especially in regards to the new moon intentions you might have set to expire. You might start seeing some fulfillment of those intentions or feeling a search to kind of make it happen, depending on how big those intentions are. Or also you can look to the new moon in Leo, which would have been about six months ago, and any intentions you might have made at that point will be have some echoing or some resolution or fulfillment at this point.
(3:40 - 3:51)
All right. Okay, so those are kind of new moons in general. As I said, we are in Leo new moon, I mean, sorry, new moon, full moon.
(3:54 - 4:14)
And this, the full moon in Leo is known as the wolf moon. So the full moons have various names and different cultures will have different names for them. The wolf moon comes from Native American culture.
(4:15 - 4:50)
And it might even be that not all the tribes would have called it the same thing. But it's commonly known as the wolf moon because in at least North America, because it's the time of year, the winter, and the wolves have been, it's been a few months of winter, they've been hunting and now there's less prey for them. And so they tend to be on the hungrier side and they howl a lot during this time.
(4:51 - 4:58)
That's the story of why it's called the full moon. It's called the wolf moon. All right.
(4:58 - 5:20)
Okay, so let's talk a little bit about Leo and what the energy of Leo means. So Leo is the sign after cancer. And you all have maybe heard me talk about, I mean, if you've had consultations with me or taken any classes with me, you've heard me say that signs are in response, the energy of the sign is in response to the sign before.
(5:21 - 5:47)
So when the energy or the beam of the sign before gets to a balance point where it's too much, the next sign comes in as a response to that. And so Leo is a response to cancer. So during the sign of cancer, we visit the sign of nurturing, we find out what's important to us, why we need the things we need.
(5:48 - 6:05)
Maybe we've set some boundaries and taken whatever we need to do for our own self-care. We've filled our cups in whatever way that is for us. And so we have plenty of energy now to start focusing on ourselves.
(6:07 - 6:25)
So it's a little less of the, it's not just the self-care, but in cancer we might've also been having that outward caring energy, right? Now Leo's calling us in. It's like, okay, we've taken care of everyone else. We have filled our cup and now let's take a look at ourselves.
(6:26 - 6:43)
So Leo wants to find its identity. It wants to know who it is at its core. And so it becomes a little more self-involved, right? It's about knowing itself, knowing yourself, and then expressing yourself.
(6:43 - 6:57)
So expressing that knowledge. So self-expression and creativity and appreciation for that are all themes that pop up for Leo. It's a very extroverted energy.
(6:58 - 7:10)
It's very playful, it's got a childlike quality. It's very expressive, high energy, fun loving, creative. I've probably already said that, but that's a good key word for Leo.
(7:12 - 8:05)
And so at this time, during this full moon in Leo, we're being challenged to shine brightly and to overcome any kind of fear or qualms that we might have about shining too brightly or standing too tall or all those, many of us, especially women might have grown up with the whole don't outshine somebody else, not polite or don't toot your own horn. A lot of those things that have kind of kept us small and Leo's not about that. Leo's like, nope, toss those out the window because I know who I am and I need to express that.
(8:06 - 8:25)
And I'm going to shine that out to the world so that I can be appreciated for who I truly am. And so this is the challenge, right? This is what we're being asked to do. And because it's a full moon, we've got this polarity, right? The sun and the moon are in opposite positions.
(8:26 - 8:40)
And so the sun is also now in the opposite sign. It's in Aquarius, which is about the group. And so we are asked to find that balance between self and group.
(8:40 - 9:06)
And when we're able to integrate those energies, we realize that by being true to ourselves and standing in our own light and shining our own brilliance allows others, allows the group to also do that. It gives them permission. It gives other people permission to be themselves and shine their light and show their brilliance.
(9:06 - 9:43)
So it's huge. So how do we do this? So Leo governs the heart chakra. And so it asks us to focus on that, go within and focus on your heart chakra, concentrate on what brings you joy, what feels like play to you, and recognize that you have worth and you have value, that we're all deserving of love, and to prioritize that relationship that you have with yourself.
(9:44 - 9:55)
This is what we're being asked at this point during a Leo full moon. So, you know, show appreciation for other people. Absolutely.
(9:55 - 10:15)
That is a Leo word, appreciation, but recognize that the light that you see in them is the light that you have within yourself. And so absolutely start from your own self-love and showing appreciation for yourself first and foremost. All right.
(10:15 - 10:46)
So a little bit, you know, like I mentioned that Aquarius is on the other side, right? It's the opposing sign where the sun is. And if you listened to my last video, you might know that the sun and Pluto are right next to each other. So the sun is in Aquarius opposite the full moon in Leo, and it's right there dancing around that sky with Pluto.
(10:46 - 11:01)
So I encourage you to go to that other video and listen to it. You can understand some of the energies of that. But just to let you know in short, what that might mean.
(11:01 - 11:18)
So Pluto's the planet of transformation, of power and control. It's the cosmic remodeler. It comes in and makes a total mess and rips stuff apart in order to create something new and better on the other side.
(11:18 - 11:43)
So, but while we're in those initial stages of what Pluto's getting into, it can feel really disruptive and really uncomfortable and maybe even a little scary if we don't see the end. We don't necessarily see the end in sight. Because Pluto does take a long time to make things happen.
(11:43 - 12:01)
And so it can feel like, oh my God, when is this gonna end? But in the end, there's a transformation. There's the Phoenix rising out of the ashes. And so right now we have Pluto kind of dipping its toes into Aquarius before fully committing.
(12:03 - 12:15)
And so it's just gonna add this intensity, okay? So to this energy at this time. So just know that that's also kind of happening during this full moon. We also have a square.
(12:15 - 12:23)
The moon is squaring Jupiter. And so Jupiter brings expansion. It's the revealer of truths.
(12:24 - 12:53)
Any of the topics that are being revealed or that are coming up during this full moon for you on a personal level or for the world at large are going to be exaggerated. Our emotions might feel exaggerated because it's the moon that it's having this kind of, it's a tense relationship with. So it might be that it's expanding some of those emotions that are coming up for us during this new moon period.
(12:54 - 13:27)
So just know that that's happening, that it's maybe an over-exaggeration. And to kind of take things with a grain of salt and do whatever you need to do to calm your nervous. Okay, another thing that's happening in this chart of the new moon, a creeping new moon, it's a full moon, is that we have Mercury and Mars conjunct, okay? They're in the same place in the sky.
(13:28 - 14:09)
And so we have to kind of call them out because they've got something going on that adds to the energy of this time. And so what is that? We've got the mind, Mercury, working in cahoots with our physicality, Mars, okay? So this is going to give us power to step in more confidently into living our values. So our beliefs, our minds, our way of thinking, our thought processes, all of that kind of is Mercury.
(14:09 - 14:46)
And then we've got Mars, it's the passion, it's the forward movement, it's the confidence that it's working with it to make it actually happen, to put, what do they say? To put feet to your words, right? So it's like boots on the ground, like, okay, making it happen. So you might have this energy too of, okay, I can do this, or I can step fully into who I am, I can shine in my brilliance, like it's gonna give that little boost of confidence. So take advantage of that because it's really important.
(14:48 - 15:29)
This is why I do what I do. Like this is, I truly believe first and foremost what we are being called to do in this time, we have got to step into who we fully are, who we are truly and offer our gifts and our true selves into the world because you're here for a reason and you need to be the reason you're here, if that makes sense. I keep saying this metaphor, but it is like a puzzle piece or a puzzle, right? Like the world is like this puzzle and we're all a piece of the puzzle.
(15:29 - 16:00)
So if you go and try and be a different puzzle piece, the puzzle never gets completed. There's a gaping hole where you are meant to be, where your puzzle piece goes. But so unless you are fully being yourself, you're aligned with your own values, your own truths and as comfortable as uncomfortable as it might be, you are stepping into your own brilliance and shining your own self into the world, that's your true core essence, then the world is missing it.
(16:01 - 17:16)
The world is missing out on whatever your flavor is that you're meant to add to it. So I just wanna encourage you, take time during this full moon to kind of, really just go within yourself, go within your heart and ask yourself where am I not, where am I not living my full essence? One thing you can do is maybe do some journaling as well, and just write at the top of the paper, I now release and just start laying out anywhere in your life, wherever you are, different aspects of your life, where you're not, where you maybe still have patterns or habits or beliefs or perspectives or anything that's weighing you down, holding you back, blocking you from manifesting your intention, your purpose, your passion and experiencing the highest divine possibilities for your life. That's what we all have a right to and what we're here for.
(17:16 - 19:11)
So write on that paper, anything, just start listing it out, dream of consciousness, anything that you feel might be getting in your way and you can do a little ritual around letting that go, releasing it, if it's something you feel like, oh, I maybe need some work on this and you might need a coach or a therapist or someone to help with that or tools and techniques, but it's on you to start letting go of anything that's holding you back from truly being yourself and stepping into your own brilliance. Okay, so I want to summarize a little bit of what I've said so far and that is that, okay, the moon is in Leo, the full moon is in Leo, the sun is in the opposite sign of Aquarius, that's the definition of a full moon, always gonna be in the opposite sign, but this is the axis of group dynamics and with Leo being about the individual and Aquarius about the group, Leo is going to tend to concern itself with itself and so this shines, this full moon in Leo is going to shine on self-expression. And so some questions to think about, to ask yourself, how are you showing up in the world? Are you showing up as you, as who you are or are you hiding bits of yourself or covering up bits of yourself or yeah, keeping them to yourself? And with that, is your freak flag flying, right? What is your weirdness showing? Is your uniqueness, like is it front and center? Like let it, it's time, it's time to kind of start taking away some of those layers as much as you can.
(19:13 - 19:44)
And then ask yourself like, what is the worst thing that could happen if you were your authentic self? If you did shine your brilliance, what is the worst that could happen? And just take a look at that. If it's something that's not terrible, maybe you eek out a little more of your true self. If it's something that might not be good or might not be good for your nervous system, maybe get some support or help with that.
(19:45 - 20:08)
So anyway, just take a look, see what's what and let me know what you think about this. I'd love to hear how this resonates for you and what you end up doing during this full moon in regards to this challenge that we're being asked to do at this point in time. Okay, I wanna close out with a couple of things.
(20:09 - 20:42)
One is I wanted, because this is happening at five degrees of Leo, I pulled the five tarot card from the major arcana, okay? And that's the Hierophant. And I used my star tarot deck, which any of you who are on my newsletter have seen images of over the past year. It's my current favorite, especially when I'm sharing because of the beautiful imagery of it.
(20:43 - 20:49)
So I'm gonna show it right here. And hopefully, let's see. Yeah, hopefully you can see that.
(20:50 - 21:12)
Beautiful, beautiful card. All right, there's a labyrinth, there's the bull, the bear, we've got, there's a snake, I think it's kind of spiraling on his arm. And you see him like connected to that divine knowledge wisdom pouring in.
(21:14 - 21:29)
I'll try and post a link to that imagery so that you can see it again. But the meaning of the Hierophant, so this was so perfect. I love, I just love how this works out with the messaging that I've already given.
(21:30 - 22:31)
But basically the Hierophant is the mediator between spiritual world and the material world, the bridge between spirit and humanity. And so this is all about trusting intuition, being the divine in everything, including yourself, and using that labyrinth that was in the imagery to basically go into your heart, to open it to spirit and gather any wisdom and knowledge from there, and then return with that wisdom and knowledge out into the physical world to impart those blessings in your knowledge and your wisdom out into the world with this kind of divine inspiration from source. Okay, and then last but not least, I would like to close out with a poem that I thought was appropriate to Full Moon in Leo.
(22:32 - 22:44)
And it's called Never Be Someone Else. And the poet is a woman by the name of Catherine Pulsifer. Never try and be someone else.
(22:45 - 22:56)
Never try and be someone else,
You are unique
Let your words be you,
When you do speak.
You were given talents
And gifts to use,
And not to use them
Will only see you lose.
Like every fingerprint or snowflake
You are one of a kind
So focus on your talents
And others, never mind.
By being yourself,
You will find more success
And never will you have to
Worry about what to confess.
(23:15 - 23:25)
All right, my friends, that is all I have for now. I hope this was helpful and beneficial to you. And yeah, let me know your thoughts down below.
(23:25 - 23:44)
If anything comes up for you in any of these journaling or meditation exercise groups, I'd love to hear about it. And if there's anything I can do to help you be yourself and stand in your truth and your brilliance, you know where to find me. All right, take care and bye for now.
